Every time, we use our smartphones we face with different problems some of them can be solved easily while some of them require a lot of effort. For being able to fix complex problems on Android devices we need to have some features enabled which in most cases are disabled and hidden by manufactures. Some of them are of course Developer Options and USB Debugging.
Those features are hidden by default because inside Developer Options there are many options and not all options are allowed on specific states. For all of those who do not know Developer Options is a menu which contains settings that are designed for developers and those who want to test their devices.
With that being said, you should enable Developer Options if you really are interested to install custom ROMs, mods, kernels, custom recoveries and themes. From below you have the guide how to Enable Developer Options but at first lets tell you what settings can be found once you enable it as Developer options has much more significant role to play that you think of.
Developer Options menu includes other useful settings like:
Take Bug Report – It can be used to share any bug you have found on your smartphone with developer or developing community.
Desktop backup password – Since we use ADB to backup personal data, with the help of this setting you can set a password.
Stay awake – I guess you have info about screen timeout, where you can select an option with seconds/minutes for the screen of your phone to stay on when you are not touching it. But there you have not the ability to leave screen timeout more than 1 hour or so and by using Stay awake option, your phone will be awake at all times until the battery of your phone drains completely.
Bluetooth HCI snoop log – Sometimes there are some situations where an app developer or firmware developer may require a log related to Bluetooth.
USB Debugging – The most important one is USB Debugging and it is required from you in order to o be used by ADB commands.
Show touches – Every time you touch the screen of your phone there will be shown a a visual round mark.
Verify apps over USB – When you download apps and move it from PC to your Smartphone sometimes can be very dangerous for your smartphone as you can infect it with any virus. So, Android along with Google will scan that app before installing on your phone thanks to this option.
Don’t keep activities – Many people do not close apps one by one they just press the home button and think that apps no longer are running in process. This is completely false so try to enable this option and you will speed up your phone, extend battery life, reduce overheating and so on.
Show CPU usage: Shows a window on the top-right of the screen which displays all the current CPU usage and process.
+ dozens of other features as definitely the list is very huge.
